Some light relief from Serco

The Serco trailer plant in Durban has replaced portions of its roof with clear polycarbonate sheeting and installed rainwater tanks to reduce its carbon footprint, as part of its green philosophy of building environmentally friendly vehicles.
Some light relief from Serco

Serco MD, Clinton Holcroft, said, "A large portion of the roof needed to be replaced and, by installing 20m length sheets over 245m², it was possible to reduce the use of lighting during the day and save a significant amount on electricity costs. All new vehicles and those in for repair are currently washed with municipal water but once the rainwater tanks are functioning, we expect to save up to 65% on our current water bill."

When the Durban green additions are complete, the company will do similar installations at its Cape Town and Gauteng factories.
