Protea Hotel Fire & Ice doubles in size

The Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! in Cape Town has had an extensive refurbishment - which includes additional conference facilities, 59 rooms and 12 one- and two-bedroom lofts catering for long-staying guests.
Protea Hotel Fire & Ice doubles in size

“The hotel has doubled in size which hasn't impacted on the occupancies which are currently being achieved,” said Danny Bryer, marketing and revenue director, Protea Hotels. “The service philosophy and unique product offering of Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! are the main contributors for acquiring new guests and maintaining existing markets. Our guests become brand ambassadors for us, which results in them sharing their experiences and the unique attributes of our product with their friends and followings on various social networking platforms.”

“Forever young”

The hotel claims to have attracted a lot of attention from the “forever young set” for its unusual features, which include, amongst others, quirky public bathrooms, rich gourmet milkshakes, a shark-cage lift and an exotic South African menu. The minute attention to detail in décor and features adds a trendy yet informal touch and can be seen in everything from the low-hanging crystal chandeliers, the koi pond and in-room Bose alarm clock radios.

Loft apartments

The exclusive fully serviced double-volume loft apartments, which are set to open in March, will have self-catering facilities. With the added benefit of the hotel's conferencing, business and entertainment facilities, Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! is ideal for the businessman spending more than a few nights in the Mother City.

Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! offers 24-hour room service, a complementary business centre and a fitness centre with state-of-the-art Technogym equipment leading onto an upstairs pool deck.

The hotel is centrally located in Cape Town's vibrant CBD and is within walking distance from the bars and restaurants of popular Long and Kloof Streets. It is minutes away from the V&A Waterfront, Clifton and Camps Bay beaches and Table Mountain.
