That's so Rad-isson

The Royal Suite at Raddisson Blu Le Vendome Hotel in Sea Point is palatial (108m² to be exact). Situated on the eighth floor, this suite boasts two balconies, two bedrooms, three bathrooms, a living room area and even a James Bond-like private boardroom. In fact it is so roomy it's bigger than both my boyfriend's flat and mine combined. Needless to say, a Saturday night stay there last weekend felt pretty plush.

Views for days

With the eighth floor height and two balconies you wouldn't be wrong in thinking the views must be pretty spectacular. After checking in we enjoyed Sundowners while watching Cape Town do her usual pretty sunset thing over the crashing waves along the prom.

As the suite was so big and luxurious - and we were planning a Halloween Deco night out, which conveniently is just a few skips down the road - we decided to order room service for dinner. Two portions of crispy battered kingklip with new potatoes, creamy mussels, shrimps and sautéed spinach did well to line the stomach for the night ahead.

After a comfy night's sleep in the king-sized bed (is there anything better than crisp white sheets and head-cradling pillows?) we headed down to the fresh La Mer Restaurant & Grill for a late breakfast. Check out was only at 12pm so no need for a morning packing rush #amaze.

Best eggs benny

I was mightily impressed by breakfast, which includes a cold and hot buffet as well as a few à la carte options. I wish I could have sampled more; however I settled on a plate of cold meat, cheese, bread and fresh fresh oysters to start with. In fact we both went a little crazy with the oysters and produced an embarrassingly large mound of shells fairly quickly, they were that good. This was followed with quite possibly the best Eggs Benedict that I have ever had the pleasure of encountering: crispy bacon, incredibly generous Hollandaise sauce and a light-and-fluffy English muffin. It was luscious and rich and oh so satisfying. The perfect end to a luxurious stay.
