Pitbull takes on Soldierboy at Carnival City
"Pitbull" Smith has an impressive Thai boxing pedigree, complete with devastating elbow and knee strikes. His international experience, having fought and won multiple times in the USA, combined with his 10-1 MMA record make him one of Africa's most respected MMA athletes. On 2 March he will collide with current champion "Soldierboy" McLellan, a fierce warrior who is now 6-1 in professional MMA. McLellan is champion with good reason, as his well-rounded strikes and submissions have defeated all rivals in some of EFC Africa's most climactic battles.
Other bouts
Also on the card, two of SA's top-five welterweights, Dino Bagattin and Martin van Staden, fight to determine who earns the right to a title shot. Featherweights Denzil Wait and Wesley Hawkey find themselves in the same situation, both eager to climb the rankings and challenge the champion in their division. Then, Paul Kietzmann and Ricky Misholas, mean machines with boxing backgrounds, seek a knockout at light heavyweight. Also at light heavyweight, karate powerhouse Sean Robinson takes on dangerous kickboxer Tumelo Maphutha. Veteran middleweight Donavin Hawkey seeks to end the red-hot winning streak of rising talent Tyron Rightford, while bitter welterweight rivals Wade Henderson and Josh Muller finally give up on words and vow to settle their differences in the cage.
