PRISA invites marketers on board

The Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa (PRISA) has expressed its sadness at the demise of the Marketing Federation of Southern African and invited any marketers who feel left out in the cold to join PRISA.

Said PRISA President, Merle O'Brien: "As President of PRISA I am very sorry that the MFSA is closing. We all understand the constraints under which member-driven organisations function and PRISA has always held the MFSA in high regard.

"We know that the marketing industry is strong and complements the public relations and communication management industry. We sincerely hope that the marketing industry will be able to work together and start an organisation that represents all constituents.

"We extend a cordial invitation to any MFSA member to join PRISA and thereby the Council for Public Relations and Communication Management (CPRCM), which represents all members of the communication industry, including GCIS, UNITECH, the SAIF, SACOMM, PRISA, PRCC and IABC," O'Brien concluded.

PRISA represents less than 50% of the PR industry and has been slammed for its inactivity in transforming the industry in the past.
