Moholi, who joined the bank in March 2006, will be leaving Nedbank Group at the end of April to return to the ICT industry where she spent the first 20 years of her career.

“The past three years in Nedbank contributed immensely to my personal development, while giving me invaluable insights into the business of the financial service sector, from the broader strategic perspective. I have been privileged to work with awesome people in a company that has a high-performance culture underpinned by great values,” said Moholi.

“I am confident that the transformation journey we started is going to be in good hands with Mike Brown at the helm from February next year. Mike is a highly respected banker under whose leadership I see a great future for Nedbank. The timing of my move is unfortunate as I would have liked to have worked alongside Mike in his new role.”

Nedbank CEO Tom Boardman said Moholi's resignation was a great loss to the company. “Pinky's departure is going to leave a void on the executive management team. However, I want to assure her of only our best wishes and unconditional support in her new and very challenging position,” he said.

Shuter, who is leaving to pursue personal interests, has resigned from the bank with effect from the end of April. He commented, “It is with mixed emotions that I have decided to leave the Nedbank Group. I have enjoyed my time at Nedbank immensely and have gained valuable and varied experience. However, after more than nine years with the group I feel it is time for a change.

“At this stage I have no immediate plans, but wish to take some time off to reflect and decide on my next career move. I know Mike Brown will do an excellent job as chief executive officer and I wish him and the team great success in the future.”

Boardman said the executive management team deeply regretted Shuter's resignation, as he had played a pivotal role within Nedbank Group. Shuter, who has been with the bank since 2000, was appointed head of Nedbank Retail in 2004.

“We want to thank Rob for his significant contribution to both Nedbank Retail and the group over the years, and wish him every success in his future endeavours,” said Boardman.
