The Search is on for South Africa’s 2003 Sustainable Growth Companies

Now in its fourth year, the 2003 Sustainable Growth Awards will showcase South Africa's leading growth companies. Listed companies are automatically entered, however private companies have until the 24th of October 2003 to submit their entries. Enter your clients, or even yourself!

The annual Growth Awards 2003 have officially been launched by sponsors First National Bank Corporate and Business Solutions, Espiál Go-to-Market, Telkom Directory Service's Yellow Pages and FleetAfrica, Super Group's fleet management company.

The Sustainable Growth Awards are aimed at recognising listed and unlisted companies that have demonstrated sustainable growth (turnover, EBITDA and Shareholder Returns) over a sustainable period.

"Growth companies do not allow themselves to be imprisoned by slow growing markets, they are continually reinventing themselves, challenging the status quo, driving new business models and leadership innovation," says Rudi Kruger, CEO of Espiál Go-to-market, a leading business strategy consulting and marketing fulfillment company.

Warren Thompson, MD FleetAfrica commented: "As part of the Global Economy South Africa must prove to be one of the most challenging markets, yet ironically it is one that offers huge opportunity. Achieving real, sustainable growth, within the context of this must rank SA companies alongside top global companies, and as such, the leaders should be applauded for the contribution they have made and will continue to make towards the development and transformation of South Africa."

Past listed winners included The Bidvest Group, Sasol Limited, and finalists included Net 1 Applied Technologies, Alexander Forbes, Ceramic Industries Limited and Impala Platinum Holdings Limited. In the unlisted category the 2002 winner was Smartcall Cointel Group, and finalists included Kelp Products and Chemical Specialities.
