“Roshene Singh's significant experience in the tourism industry and proven track record in successfully delivering strategy in Europe has made her an obvious choice to lead the South African Tourism Marketing Division,” said Moeketsi Mosola, CEO of SA Tourism.
Previously portfolio manager for Europe, Singh drove marketing initiatives that saw increased arrivals from France, Germany, The Netherlands – and more recently Italy.
Prior to that she was portfolio manager for the domestic market, where she spearheaded many of SA Tourism's most groundbreaking projects, including the organisation's participation in the 2003 Cricket World Cup, the launch of its Domestic Tourism Strategy and the well-known Sho't Left domestic travel campaign. An acknowledged industry expert, she also has previous experience as national election manager for the ANC.
Mosola added, “South African Tourism is committed to transformation, equity and excellence in the industry. The appointment of Roshene Singh as CMO illustrates our support of these principles.”
“Roshene has always been a team player with both government and tourism industry stakeholders and we are confident that she will collaborate effectively as we face the exciting challenges ahead. All at SA Tourism look forward to working with her in her new role,” concluded Mosola.
