iROKO Partners the Gold Sponsor of the Mobile Entertainment Africa conference

All Amber, the organiser of premier mobile-related events in Africa, today announced that iROKO Partners, one of the world's largest distributors of Nigerian entertainment, will be the Gold Sponsor at this year's Mobile Entertainment Africa conference taking place on August 29th and 30th at the five-star One&Only Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa. The partnership represents iROKO Partners' first time to ever sponsor an African event.

iROKO Partners is one of the fastest-growing internet companies in Nigeria and the largest licensee of Nollywood movies, with more than 5,000 titles in its library. It is YouTube's biggest African partner, boasting over 152 million views in 2011, and has secured distribution deals with Dailymotion, iTunes, Amazon and Vimeo. Since its launch in January 2012 iROKOtv, the on-demand Nollywood movie service, has streamed over 11 million hours of movies across 200 countries.

The company's music platform, iROKING, is one of Africa's largest distributors of digital music with a catalogue of over 35,000 songs. Across all of its entertainment channels, iROKO Partners has seen over 4.5 million unique visits.

As part of the sponsorship agreement, Michael Ugwu, CEO of iROKING, will deliver a keynote presentation at Mobile Entertainment Africa 2012. He commented: "iROKO Partners is pleased to be sponsoring Mobile Entertainment Africa. We attended the inaugural event last year and were extremely impressed by the quality of the presentations and the pedigree of the attendees. It was an awesome opportunity to celebrate Africa's exciting and burgeoning tech scene and I'm sure it will be bigger and better this year. Our vision of bringing Nigerian and African entertainment online meshes perfectly with the premise of the event."

Matthew Dawes, Managing Director of All Amber added: "I am absolutely delighted that iROKO Partners has committed to supporting Mobile Entertainment Africa. iROKO's products are helping to make African entertainment content available to Africans both on the continent and in the Diaspora while simultaneously acting to curb piracy, which is currently a major challenge in the industry. Mobile entertainment is a crucial component of the mobile revolution in Africa and iROKO's pivotal role in transforming the African entertainment ecosystem is undisputed."

Mobile Entertainment Africa takes takes place on the 29th and 30th of August at the 5-star One&Only Hotel in Cape Town and will give attendees the opportunity to gain and exchange knowledge surrounding maximising the entertainment opportunities on handheld devices in Africa. Attendance at the event is limited and the inaugural event in 2011 sold out weeks before the conference. Anyone interested in participating is strongly encouraged to reserve a place now before the show is fully booked. Details can be found at http://entertainment-africa.com.
