Soweto joins in TEDxYouthDay

TEDxYouthDay, a series of TEDx events happening all around the world on Saturday 20 November 2010, will be celebrated in South Africa by TEDxYouth@Soweto with 50 other TEDx communities around the world, asking young people to share their visions of the future under a common vision: inspiring curiosity, igniting new ideas and empowering young leaders.
Soweto joins in TEDxYouthDay

Being held at the Apartheid Museum, Johannesburg, from 9am to 6pm, this event brings together a dozen of South Africa's thinkers and doers between 16-21, including Precious Kofi, Catherine Peter, Reid Falconer, the duo Don Juan Khabana and Ross Ranby and the Melodi Music Ensemble. Presenters will share their visions on topics such as education, work, money and the planet.

Joining them will be 120 pre-selected delegates from all backgrounds, people who are inspired by new ideas and who have the passion to take them forward. They will engage with the theme, We, The Future and examine the future being created and their places in it. Questions include; "What kind of world are we creating?" "Are we building the future we want to see?" "Sixteen years after the birth of democracy in South Africa, will today's youth fulfil their full human potential?"

Like all TED events, it is about ideas worth sharing, making new connections and inspiring each other to action. Every participant in the event brings his or her own unique perspective, from the speaker on stage to audience members sharing a conversation in the lobby.
