New women's forum launches
CEO Shadi Molope, says that the event will feature influential women such as Tumi Frazier, Phumelele Ndumo, Mabotse Mabena and Lerato Motsepe. The event will provide members with a platform to network with like-minded people and will address the challenges women face in business. Keynote addresses and mentoring sessions will open up different angles on how to solve the challenges at hand.
She says the forum will inspire all guests with the success stories of the region's most influential women. “As a woman you have an exclusive point of view, personal experiences in business and in life in general and lessons to share. Participating in this session will allow you to learn from other women, share information, grow in a supportive environment and expand your network.”
A forum with a difference?
Molope states that while many other forums for the empowerment of women already exist, what is important is that women empowerment should move beyond workshops and mere words to tangible, practical benefits. Women have the right to ask, ‘what's in it for me?' “After all, they cannot afford to waste valuable time and hard-earned money merely talking about issues,” she concludes.
The company is a black female-led organisation formed in 2006 and registered in 2008. It derives its meaning from LEANING ON ‘Itshegetse Mosadi. It was founded to create a platform where women can discuss issues challenging them in society, workplace and home - see www.tshekamo.co.za for more.
