Global experts for decorating conference

‘Energising cities, building design cultures' will be one of the topics under discussion at ‘Conversations on Architecture', the CaesarStone-sponsored one-day Decorex conference taking place on 8 August 2007, the show's opening day.

Talk Show's fresh new format is dedicated to responsible design and the built environment and the line up includes international experts from as far afield as Melbourne and Germany, joining a cast of local architects and design gurus.

The international speakers are:

LEON VAN SCHAIK, professor of architecture at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) and holder of an Innovation Chair in practice based research in design. He did his masters at UCT and studied at the Architectural Association (AA) in London. From his base in Melbourne, he has promoted local and international architectural culture through practice-based research. He was awarded the inaugural Neville Quarry Prize for Architectural Education.

MARTIN BEEH, GM of Material ConneXion, Germany. One of the world's leading knowledge bases for innovative new materials, with headquarters in New York and offices in Bangkok, Cologne and Milan, Material ConneXion has been the go-to resource for designers and corporations looking for innovative materials for nearly a decade.

Interviewed via satellite will be CHRIS BANGLE, automobile designer, chief of design for BMW Group. Bangle is responsible for design strategy and conception across all BMW's brands.
