70 red roses for Rooi Rose
In celebration of its 70th birthday, the April 2012 cover of Rooi Rose unfolds to reveal seven cover girls, one for each decade. Adding to the celebrations are two new websites.
"The issue is filled with nostalgia, history and memories, on top of readers' favourite regular features that they've come to expect from the magazine," says editor Martie Pansegrouw.
Actresses Anna-Mart van der Merwe (1940s), Elma Postma (1950s), Nadia Valvekens (1960s), ex-Miss SA and TV presenter Jo-Ann Strauss (1970s), model and TV-presenter Minki van der Westhuizen (1980s), style icon Karin Berman (1990s) and ex-Miss SA and business woman Amy Kleinhans-Curd (2000s) each represent one of the magazines stylish decades.
Websites offer digital chat, travel
"Our new website is a visual feast and also delivers up to the minute news, how-to articles, competitions and so much more. It also offers weekly digital chat room sessions, hosted by specialist editors and guests every Friday. We will strive to deliver an online experience that is on par with our magazine," adds managing editor Hannelie Diedericks.
The magazine has also launched a new travel website where users will be able to share in the trips undertaken by the magazine's team, get useful travel tips and information, win prizes, take advantage of special offers in conjunction with professional and reliable travel partners, like the exclusive tour to Buenos Aires with editor Martie Pansegrouw in June.
