Recipes of the stars

Media24's family magazine division has launched a TVPlus' Soapie Star Recipes magazine that features 43 South African and international recipes, straight from the dining room tables of top soap stars. Spekko Rice is a partner on this project and each copy of the magazine comes with a free packet of rice.

Willem Breytenbach, publisher of the division, says this is a brand extension that leverages the strength of the TVPlus brand. The division also recently launched TVPlus Puzzles, a bi-monthly magazine filled with 96 games and puzzles.

TV support

In support of the marketing of the magazine, two shows visited it to find out more. Roer! host Tammy-Anne Fortuin and TVPlus test chef Karen Hart prepared some of the soap star recipes on kykNET, on 18 August 2010. On 3 September at 7pm on M-Net, All Access' Mark Bayly spends the day at the magazine's offices to find out more about the recipes and how the magazine was put together.
