New magazine targets public sector

The launch edition of Delivery at the end of September is set to provide a direct avenue to public sector decision makers, specifically in the local government sector.

With South Africa's municipalities having a combined annual budget in excess of R75 billion, they are a significant player in the economy. With the national focus firmly on accelerated delivery, improved governance and a new approach to procuring goods and services, the potential of this market for advertisers should not be ignored. There's also a new generation of leadership at political and administrative level, making different choices.

Delivery is a 80 - 100 page quarterly publication with a print order of 12 000 which will be distributed widely within all 284 municipalities, with guaranteed personal mailings to mayors, municipal managers and mayoral/executive councillors. It will also be distributed to provincial and national government, including legislatures, ministeries and departments, and to members of Parliament.

There has already been strong support from subscribers in the consulting field, the professions, academics, financial institutions and funders. 3 000 copies will be available from selected retail outlets.

Delivery is published by String Communications, a specialist public-sector agency. For more information, contact Sarah Hetherington or Katharine McKenzie on (021) 422-1222 or see www.sadelivery.co.za for rates and booking deadlines. Booking deadline for the launch issue is 1 September 2004.
