Wilderness Holdings Integrated Report recognised

The Wilderness Holdings Integrated Report for the 2013 financial year has been recognised as among the best in the world in the Corporate Register Reporting Awards (CRRA) for 2014, gaining sixth place in CorporateRegister.com's annual awards.
Wilderness Holdings Integrated Report recognised

CorporateRegister.com is the primary global reference point for corporate responsibility (CR) reports and resources worldwide. With over 42,000 registered members, the most active of which make up the independent judging panel, the sixth annual CRRA recognises global leaders in sustainability and integrated reporting. It also aims to present the best of global responsible annual reporting practices in order to help drive change and to develop a sense of cohesion and shared direction in CR reporting.

"As the world's largest directory of integrated reports (57,270 reports from 11,254 companies), this recognition of our efforts is incredibly rewarding. We are proud to be sharing a platform with well-known multinationals such as Novo Nordisk and Smithfield Foods - both extremely large global corporations compared to our business, and yet we are still able to hold our own as a world leader in sustainability reporting," said Derek de la Harpe, chief sustainability officer.

Leadership in integrating sustainability issues

"Being included amongst the world's best is testament to the fact that our report demonstrates leadership in integrating sustainability issues into the annual company reports," he added.

By successfully integrating its financial and 4Cs sustainability framework into one coherent report, Wilderness Holdings has demonstrated that each aspect of its business - commerce, conservation, community and culture - is as important as the other. The company has to do well in order to effect change, but it has also demonstrated that, by making a difference, it can also create value for its shareholders.

The winners in the Best Integrated Report category were:

  • Novo Nordisk
  • Smithfield Foods
  • Natura Cosmeticos
  • The Crown Estate
  • Vancouver City Savings Credit Union (VanCity)
  • Wilderness Holdings
  • MOL Group
