Second edition of TRAIL soon on shelves

The second issue of TRAIL magazine, South Africa's only print and digital publication dedicated to the booming sport of trail running, hits the shelves on 10 April 2012. Subscribers are being mailed their copies on 4 April, the same day it will be available on Zinio.com and through iTunes for digital download.

Just like mountain biking rode out of nowhere and knocked the wheels from under road cycling, trail running is the antidote to running on crowded, often hazardous roads, and a breath of fresh air for anyone who has been a runner for any length of time. It's booming, and it's only going to get bigger.

Tips on running with dogs

The second issue builds on the launch issue with longer, detailed articles on an eclectic mix of topics including running with dogs (trail etiquette, best and worst breeds and common pooch injuries); growing and eating the sinful dessert (a use for sweet potato leaves you never imagined); a preview of Knysna's famous Salomon Featherbed Trail Run; a 16-model Hydration Pack Guide to keep you hydrated while on the move, plus tips on getting the right type.

TRAIL magazine's second issue is packed with training tips, news and product reviews. Expert guest writers include desert and stage running queen Mimi Anderson, lifestyle coach Chantel Nienaber and trail racer Leo Rust, who sings the praises of Cape Town's Lion's Head. Photographic contributors include Kelvin Trautman, Craig Kolesky and Jacques Marais.
