Earlier kick-off for 2010 Stellies wine festival
The 9th annual Stellenbosch Wine Festival takes on a new format this year and will be held a month earlier to give soccer fans the opportunity to visit the myriad of cellars that make up the Stellenbosch Winelands. From 1 - 5 July 2010, visitors will be able to experience the winelands in all their glory through an extensive network of shuttles travelling between more than 140 farms that are taking part in the festival this year.
Festival passes can be purchased from the Info Centre at Doornbosch, or at any of the allocated Park-and-Ride areas where visitors can leave their cars and take a shuttle to any of the vineyards of their choice. Transport has also been arranged from Cape Town, Visitors will also be able to travel to the wine farms using their own transport.
Participating farms are offering visitors wine tastings and various other activities.
Tickets for the Stellenbosch Wine Festival are available online at R150 per person per day, and R500 for the Golden Pass for the entire duration of the festival. Kids under the age of 18 go free.
