Call for applications for Student Village's WLC
The Women's Leadership Conference, which is organised by youth marketing services provider Student Village, will take place in Cape Town and Johannesburg at the end of August with the theme “Developing you as a personal brand.”
"This year's WLC will be the sixth of its kind and will be held in two separate events in Cape Town and Johannesburg at the end of August, with selected candidates from Durban being especially flown in to attend," said Student Village director Marc Kornberger. "The Women's Leadership Conference is a 'by invite only' event. It provides a mentoring network to a select group of extremely talented young women from universities across the country, and affords sponsors an inspirational platform into the hearts and minds of the future female leaders of SA."
MC and sponsors
MC for the event is well-known writer, producer, editor and actress Thami Ngubeni. The associate partner this year is 46664 and sponsors include Coke Light, Liberty, Ponds, Ambi and AngloCoal. Top women achievers such as Sandy Mohonathan, HR director at Accenture, Renee Silverstone, CEO at Jupiter Drawing Room, Audrey Mothupi, HR director at Liberty Life, Salamina Mosese from Top Billing, and Hulisani "CC" Ravele, MC and television presenter, are amongst speakers included in this year's programme.
"The feedback we've had from our sponsors has certainly resonated with that of the delegates," advises Kornberger. "Notably, they've voiced their appreciation at being afforded the opportunity of a really meaningful and pertinent platform that tangibly reflects each brand's investment in South Africa's youth. People left the conference changed. When you touch a heart, you touch a mind and when you touch a mind you create a memory - and a memory lives forever."
