MyGaming appoints new editor

James Etherington-Smith has been appointed as the new editor for MyGaming.
MyGaming appoints new editor

Etherington-Smith was acting editor after former MyGaming editor Nic Simmonds left following three years at the helm of the publication.

Simmonds has joined former MyBroadband journalist Tom Manners at the newly formed media and communications company, Clockwork Media.

Simmonds will not be completely lost to MyGaming, and continues to contribute to the publication on a daily basis as a freelance journalist and columnist.

Etherington-Smith joined MyBroadband in 2009 as a technology journalist and sub-editor, and moved to MyGaming in 2010 as a gaming journalist while retaining sub-editing duties at MyBroadband.

Etherington-Smith holds a BA in Journalism from the University of Johannesburg.

"We are fortunate to have James as MyGaming's new editor. He's a great asset to the company not only because he is a talented wordsmith and knowledgeable journalist, but also because he has that rare ability to get the job done," said MyBroadband founder Rudolph Muller.

"I look forward to the challenge of leading the MyGaming team in maintaining a high standard for South African video gaming news and review, and serving our ever-growing MyGaming community," said Etherington-Smith.
