Samsung connects IT users
Power users, such as mobile professionals or connected families, will benefit from its auto wireless detection that finds a laptop equipped with the included wireless USB dongle once it is moved within a one meter radius. No cords need to be touched; no settings need to be changed.
"It answers a real need for consumers and business professionals looking to simplify their IT environment so they can move easily from a mobile to desktop setting," says Bennie Budler, product manager for IT at Samsung Electronics SA. "It enables users to effortlessly connect or disconnect their notebook PC to a wide range of peripheral devices without the inconvenience of having to constantly plug and unplug every time they do so."
The unit also functions as a second display alongside a connected laptop, freeing users from the constraints of a single, smaller screen. This offers the convenience and portability of a laptop with the bigger workspace of a traditional desktop. In addition, its auto configuration function lets users quickly and easily set up the screen with optimal resolution and screen settings. Additionally, the USB ports can charge mobile devices for added convenience and utility.
Featuring two USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0 connections for connecting peripherals, it has fast, versatile data transfer and device communication. It also includes an HDMI input, enabling users to connect Blu-ray players, set top boxes, or gaming devices to realise the full potential of its 1080p LED backlit display. In addition, users also have the ability to hook up external speakers.
All four consumer models have a dual hinge base, making them height adjustable and simplifying the silhouette into a minimalist desktop display. Two additional professional models feature a more traditional, fully height-adjustable stand in place of the dual-hinge, perfect for corporate office use.
It is available with either a crystal or metallic finish and features Touch of Color construction, which injects a hint of colour naturally blended into the bezel.
"The unit is designed to reduce companies' long-term equipment costs. By eliminating the need to purchase device-specific docking stations, a single unit will last through multiple generations of PCs," concludes Budler.
