Store features include a dairy and cheese section, bakery, self-service coffee station, fruit and vegetable island and a variety of essential groceries. A significant percentage of the Hobie Beach floor space will be dedicated to fresh produce.

The store also provides a selection of ready-made meals perfect for the shopper with limited time - crispy fried chicken, pizzas, artisan-style breads and the brand's famous 'breakfast on a bun'.

"The company initiated a successful partnership with Chevron SA early in 2009 and has since launched 20 other convenience stores across the country in a bid to secure a national footprint. Support amongst consumers for the brand motivated our decision to open a convenience store that meets the demands of time-conscious Port Elizabeth consumers," said Brian Coppin, co-founder and MD of Freshstop.
