New retailers, competition at V&A Waterfront

This month, the V&A Waterfront has opened of a number of new retail tenants, adding a range of international brands to the existing retail mix, including Hello Kitty and Jelly Planet.

Leigh Thomas, retail leasing manager at the V&A Waterfront, says, "These brands add great dimension to our existing offerings aimed at a younger market and have already proved to be a welcome addition to the mix."

"Our annual winter sale is well underway, with a large number of participating retailers offering brands and products at very favourable prices," adds Annemie Liebenberg, tourism, customer services and communications manager at the V&A Waterfront.

"Couple your winter retail therapy session with a discounted dining experience at any of the participating top-rated restaurants offering a number of half price options, breakfast specials and free extras."

As part of its winter offering, it has launched a 'Get away with the V&A' competition, offering the winner a trip for two, prizes and a four-night stay at the five-star Royal Livingstone hotel in Zambia, valued at R100 000.

Visitors are encouraged to participate in the competition by collecting a competition entry in the form of a passport. "Every time you visit, you can collect a passport stamp," Liebenberg explains. "Once you have collected four stamps, you can drop your completed entry in the entry box."

Ten finalists will be drawn and treated to an overnight stay at the Queen Victoria Hotel at the waterfront, during which the final winner will be announced. The competition closes at 9pm on 31 August 2011.
