And the prize he won certainly wasn't peanuts!

Winning R200 000 for correctly guessing the number of peanuts in Barman Larry's bowl is certainly a great way to start the summer and Gerhard Labuschagne from Centurion did just that when he guessed the bowl in the Savanna Winter promotion held exactly 392 peanuts.

The competition followed through from the TV-advert, featuring complimentary peanuts. Consumers were asked to guess the number of peanuts in Barman Larry's bowl and to send in their answers together with the barcode number found on either the Savanna Dry or Savanna Light pack.

This is the first competition Gerhard has won in about 20 years, apart from a book prize when he was six years old. Taking the big prize home has certainly changed his luck and his wish-list. His first purchase was a superbike followed by an engagement ring for his girlfriend. The rest he is saving for the wedding, to back a new business he will be starting, and towards a luxurious Christmas holiday.
