Entries for this years international one-minute film festival, Filminute, have closed and 25 films have been shortlisted and are subject to both a public vote and a review by an international jury. [video]

This year, South African film director, Bauke Brouwer (@Fallenshortfilm) has once again made it into the shortlist of the 2011 festival for his film, 'The Fallen'. Last year, Brouwer was commended for his film 'Gumboots'.

Brouwer's 60-second entry 'The Fallen', commemorates the South African soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Second World War. View it below.

This year's international jury will award the Best Filminute and five commendations and audiences worldwide can rate the films and vote for the People's Choice.

The international jury consists of: Emmy-award winning film producer and journalist, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy; Italian fiction and screenplay writer Carlo Pizzati; FIPRESCI vice president and Turkish film critic Alin Tasciyan; Sid Lee Creative Agency co-creative director and partner Eva Ven Den Bulcke; and VP, Walt Disney Imagineering Research and Development Jon Snoddy.

The public have up until Friday 30 September 2011 to view, rate and comment on this year's 25 shortlisted films and are entitled to only one vote for the People's Choice Award. Winners will be announced on 6 October 2011.

Masks & Mirrors - George Mangalath Thomas (India)

The 6th edition of the festival features 16 premieres, more than double the number of previous years. Films this year came from 18 countries on 6 continents and include: Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Colombia, Croatia, France, Hungary, India, Japan, Netherlands, Pakistan, Romania, Spain, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and USA.
