The world is your neighbour
'Imagine a world where Buddhist monks and Maori Warriors play croquet together... where kimono clad Japanese ladies ride on camels... and little girls teach a Masai to skip rope... where you wait at the zebra crossing to let cheetahs cross...' Malaysian production company Planet Films, recently collaborated with Maximum Films in South Africa to produce the latest visually stunning and magical Malaysia Airlines commercial directed by Farouk Al-Joffery.
The spot focuses on the concept of the world as your neighbour, all seen through the eyes of a little girl and her teddy as she tours a 'Global Village' depicting a colourful kaleidoscope of nationalities and cultures.
A technically demanding storyboard was achieved by using pre-visualization and in camera was achieved in one seamless take with the Milo Motion Control & Super Techno Crane rig from Media Film Services.
Surprised Johannesburg park goers were treated to a behind the scenes view as Threadneedle Street, Sets Non Stop, Green It and Animal Crackers, transformed the mundane into magical - incorporating Venetian canals and gondolas within an everyday pond for the vast talent and animal cast to play against.
Sunita Petrus, Planet producer commented that this was her first shoot in South Africa and she was very impressed with the high standards presented by the talent and technical crew and Maximum's production team.
