Petrol price to decrease by 3 cents per litre

The price of all grades of petrol will decrease by 3 cents per litre from Wednesday, 6 May 2009.

The wholesale price of diesel, 0.05% sulphur, will increase by 8 cents per litre while the wholesale price of diesel, 00.05% sulphur, will increase by 6 cents per litre, the Department of Minerals and Energy said.

The department further announced that the wholesale price of illuminating paraffin will increase by 13 cents per litre and illuminating paraffin at the Single Maximum National Retail price will increase by 17 cents per litre.

During the period 29 March and 29 April 2009, the average international product prices of petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin increased.
