The in-house newsletter is under threat. Industrial editors who are responsible for corporate publications such as house journals, staff newspapers and in-house newsletters compete for their readers' attention with other much more exciting mass media. Thinking strategically about corporate publications has become an imperative.
Keynote speakers will be Kate Bapela, past president of PRISA and Jacques Lange, president elect of Icograda who will do a double feature on finding our own voice in Africa from a communication and design perspective. Other interesting topics include using graphics to communicate difficult or boring concepts and a panel discussion of past corporate publication winners who will share their winning recipes. Harry Dugmore, founder of the Madam & Eve cartoon strip will share his thoughts on humour in the corporate environment.
The second day of the conference will be a learning experience with breakaway sessions on digital photography, editing, strategic communication plans and more.
