Jo'burg gets a new publication, not a name change!
From imposing skyscrapers to chic shopping malls; from breaking news on radio stations to calls to prayer from a mosque; from the lasting value of the city's gold to the pursuit of academic knowledge at its universities; from highways bustling with traffic to clean water flowing from taps: All are part of the myriad of brands whose familiar sounds blend into the daily harmony and rhythm of life for the millions of people who work, play and make their home in the Joburg metropolis.
The publication will come off the press in the latter part of this year, and is an innovative venture of leading branding publishers, Affinity Advertising and Publishing. The publication has the support of the Jo'burg Metro Council.
Affinity's Ken Preston says that Joburg! will express the pride of brands in their city: "The story of Joburg's brands is Joburg's story. Brands are inseparably woven into the rhythm and harmony of city life. It will be a lasting legacy of brands in this city, and the ways in which they are helping to build the future," he says.
