Changed Broadcasting Amendment Bill adopted

NEWSWATCH: Earlier this week, the controversial Broadcasting Amendment Bill, which President Kgalema Motlanthe had sent back to Parliament unsigned, was adopted by the National Assembly after the necessary changes were made to bring it in line with the constitution, reports IOL. Meanwhile, Anton Harber, Caxton Professor of Journalism at Wits University, has pointed out in Business Day an interesting case of legal action was served on the SABC and the communications minister by the FXI last week which he believes will have an impact on South African media.
