Mpumalanga' first independent radio station, MPower, has fired one of its DJs after he was found drunk and sleeping instead of presenting a show, writes the Sowetan. Lesley Mathebula was fired with immediate effect after the station went dead during his show on Saturday night.
The Mail & Guardian Online reports that a group of Chinese lawyers is suing CNN in response to remarks by commentator Jack Cafferty. According to Beijing-backed Wen Wei Po newspaper, the lawyers contend that the comments violated the dignity and reputation of the Chinese people.
