Eddie Funde withdraws SABC board nomination
The Mail & Guardian Online reported yesterday, Monday 3 September that the Gauteng branch of the South African National Civic Organisation (SANCO) is going to go to the police to determine whether Sunday Times editor Mondli Makhanya applied for amnesty over political activities during apartheid.
Makhanya also reiterated to the Power Reporting Workshop, a three-day conference happening at Wits University in Johannesburg that began yesterday, that the Sunday Times did not steal the medical records of health minister Manto Tshabalala-Msimang.
Meanwhile, various journalists and photographers were injured yesterday in a violent Soweto protest action, according to News24.com.
