Press ombudsman office to be reformed?

A commission by South African editors and publishers will be investigating changes to the press code and the office of the press ombudsman, writes Journalism.co.za, “ahead of the imminent retirement of the current ombudsman, former Sapa editor Ed Linington”, who has been in office for 10 years. This comes as response to last year’s uproar “around the films and publications bill that was seen as seeking to impose censorship on the news”.
