Meet the Mexicans, taste Brazil, watch the Diski
The South African media has the opportunity during the 2010 FIFA World Cup to show and attend the parties or to engage in interesting dialogue with key players commencing on Monday 7 June 2010.
On Monday 7 June, Johannesburg based media can attend the Mexican press conference, featuring the president of the Mexican Football Federation and the Mexican Ambassador to South Africa at Touch Down Restaurant at Elllis Park, Johannesburg, while their Cape Town counterparts attend a sneak preview of the Casa little Brazil, 33-day carnival at the Sea Point Civic Centre. Tuesday 8 June sees 3rd Degree cover the highs of the event and get down to Diski dancing at 9.30pm.
Deaf signing at all games
FIFA has announced that to accommodate the deaf, and people with hearing impairments across the globe in following all the matches even more comprehensively, its video reports on FIFA.com, released soon after each game, will include International Sign (IS). This is an international auxiliary language used at meetings such as the World Federation of the Deaf Congress and events such as the Deaflympics.
