Soccerex success sets the scene for 2010
Karin White, GM: Sales & Marketing at SCC said, "This year's Soccerex was a five-day football fiesta, as the leading conference on football as a business and it offered delegates a platform to network, learn, interact and do business all under one roof. Moreover, this year's event was particularly important, as it was the lead-up to the final draw in Cape Town.
All the big names in world football were present, including FIFA President Sepp Blatter, the LOC's CEO Danny Jordaan and Rafael Salguero, president of the FIFA Executive Committee. Football clubs from around the world were represented at the event, together with bidding nations, international and local business partners, government delegates, media and football legends. Local football stands included amongst others Mamelodi Sundowns, Platinum Stars and Ajax Cape Town together with the SABC, official broadcaster of FIFA 2010.
"One of the highlights of the event was the Soccerex World Cup Legends Dinner, hosted by Gauteng province, a five-star affair with a specially-designed three-course menu from SCC's head chef Sean Riley and his team, and entertainment from the likes of Danny K, the Soweto Gospel Choir and UB40 legend Ali Campbell,” concludes White.
