Captivity Headwear awarded New Era distribution rights for Southern Africa

Global Brands Group announced today, Tuesday, 23 October 2007, that it has selected Cape Town-based Captivity Headwear to distribute official 2010 FIFA World Cup licensed caps, hats and beanies and other headwear products.

Under its worldwide manufacturing agreement with Global Brands Group, Mainland Holdings Headwear will produce official FIFA World Cup branded hats that are expected to be available in South Africa in late 2007.

"The agreement with Captivity is another important step in developing a comprehensive range of Official Licensed Product for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa" said Mark Matheny, co-chairman and co-CEO of Global Brands Group.

Simon Hawkins, Global Brands Group's VP for Europe, Middle East and Africa, added, "Headwear is an important category in the wider licensing program and Global Brands Group is looking forward to working with Captivity in creating an outstanding product offering for this world-class event."

"The 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa will be the biggest sporting phenomenon this country has ever seen," said Christian Parrello, CEO of Captivity Headwear. "Captivity is proud to be involved and looks forward to providing South African consumers with the opportunity to buy into a world-class event through a world-class product".

In 2005, FIFA appointed Global Brands Group as both its worldwide exclusive licensing representative and store operator for FIFA-branded retail destinations from 2007 to 2014. Additionally, Global Brands Group is acting as the on-site concessionaire for all FIFA events throughout this eight-year term.
