Evolution of Springbok emblem

A set of ten new postage stamps that illustrate the evolution of the Springbok emblem over the years have been designed by Thea Clemons, the Post Office's in-house designer, using Springbok emblems supplied by the South African Rugby Union. The stamps will be released for the reunion event to commemorate a 1971 match between the All Blacks and the South African Springboks in Port Elizabeth.

Chalk drawing expert arrives in SA

The sixth annual Body Art competition at uShaka Marine World will be held on Saturday 27 August 2011 from 9am till 4pm in Arena 3 and 5. The day will also include the new chalk drawing category with the theme 'unlimited fun', inspired by the attendance of Jim Phillips, a chalk artist from the US, who has been a street painter for the past fifteen years and has participated in many festivals and exhibitions throughout the US, Canada, the Netherlands and Australia. His goal is to do chalk drawings on all six continents, having completed three to date.
