Don't worry, be happy
Edelkoort, whose sphere of influence ranges from cars to cosmetics, fashion to flowers, the food we buy at the market stall and the plates we serve it on, says she had never been so optimistic about the future. Good news indeed from the style guru who has been predicting trends with surprising accuracy for the past 20 years.
“We are on the brink of a new lifestyle era,” says Edelkoort. “More music, less moaning, real replaces replica while the red carpet continues to go green.”
Starting with colour and fashion trends the two part presentation is entitled 'unplugged-summer 2009' and is aimed at those who want the season's overview, with fashion, product, interiors, colours and styles. The second part of the seminar will be a lifestyle presentation focusing on interiors and architecture.
“Colour and lifestyle trends impact on every single aspect of our designed environment, making reliable information absolutely essential,” says VISI editor Sumien Brink.
As well as Edelkoort's collection of bi-annual trend books for Trend Union, she also publishes Bloom, a bi-annual magazine devoted to inspirations from the world of horticulture and how these relate to trends in design, fashion, interiors, food and lifestyle. All books will be available for purchase following the presentations.
