Corporates support APEX Awards
This year's APEX awards have received a R100 000 sponsorship from Sappi, the global pulp and paper group. The biennial event will take place in April and is aimed at celebrating creative that results in tangible brand effectiveness.
Zandile Nzalo, Chief Executive of the ACA, says the sponsorship illustrates the ongoing support and commitment of corporates to promote efficacy within the advertising industry.
"APEX awards are aimed at rewarding campaigns that contribute to the bottom line and are able to deliver return on investment to clients, so Sappi's support is encouraging for the industry."
"Sappi is about communicating ideas," says Simon Grose of Sappi Fine Paper Marketing, "about taking a concept and turning it into reality. Almost every advertising campaign begins on paper and many of the world's leading brands rely on printed communications as a fundamental component of their marketing mix - an essential tool of brand building and promotion."
"South Africa Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has again demonstrated its support for the awards with R150 000 sponsorship.
Entries for the 2006 Apex awards closed in October last year with a record 47 entrants. The entries varied from cars to dog food, fragrances to beverages, broadcasting stations to cell phones with the most entries coming from the motor industry.
