Bruce Anderson, Creative Director: Retail at The Agency, says: "Pup and Vleis epitomize the typical South African pet ownership scenario - the big, beefy watchdog Vleis, a Boerbul and Pup, the Jack Russell lap dog.
"They have been tasked with repositioning Bobtail by leaving pet owners with no doubt that Nola's dog food is the premier retail brand available on supermarket shelves."
Anderson says the dog food market is awash with sub-standard products that do not conform to the standards laid out by the Registrar in Act 36/1947: "For many pet owners, the relatively high cost of formulations sold through veterinary practices and pet stores is prohibitive. However, for those pet owners who cannot afford these formulations but still want to give their canines the best possible nutrition available on their budget, Bobtail provides a healthy option."
Pup and Vleis go to great lengths to outwit each other and hog each other's share of chow. From pool lounger to glass sliding door antics, Pup and Vleis will be on TV sets for the next couple of months thinking up cheeky ways of getting more than their fair share of dinner.
