The Advertising Standards Authority of South Africa (ASA), the South African Digital Media and Marketing Association (DMMA), Out of Home Media South Africa (OHMSA) and Association for Communication and Advertising (ACA) have announced that new members have joined.

ASA gets experienced board member

ASA has appointed Joanne Siney-Gould as a new member of the organisations' board of directors. She currently serves on the boards of the Marketing Association of South Africa, the executive board of the South African Tissue Manufacturers Association and is the commercial director on the executive of Kimberley-Clark South Africa. She joins other directors, Nkwenkwe Nkomo, re-elected as chairperson, Karen Willenberg (vice chair), Ian Shepherd, Ingrid Louw, Diane Terblance, Ivan May and Thembi Msibi (CEO).

DMMA extends to real estate

PGP is reportedly the first real estate agency to be approved as an official member (non-publishing) by the South African Digital Media and Marketing Association (DMMA) - formerly known as the Online Publishers Association. (Non-publishing members, as opposed to publishing members, are those, which do not accept advertising on their sites and therefore do not require formal ad ratings.)

OHMSA has announced the membership of two new agencies Adrap Advertising Technologies and Tutu Communications. Adrap is described as a new and exciting agency that offers clients a fresh, innovative and unconventional approach to branding needs in all sectors. Tutu Communications, founded in 2006, is an alternative outdoor advertising company that operates nationwide including all townships.

Hello ACA

The most recent additions to ACA are Annie B Media Communication, The Brand Leadership, Zanusi Marketing Consultants and Hello World Advertising Agency. It is striving to ensure that the industry remains committed to the goals of transformation, with a particular focus on the targets set out in the MAC SA Charter.
