Five jury presidents to chair Eurobest 2008

LONDON: Five of Europe's most distinguished advertising and communication experts will chair the 21st Eurobest Awards, which honour the best creative European advertising across all major disciplines and now form part of the first Eurobest Festival.

Commenting on these nominations, Philip Thomas, Eurobest CEO said, “The first Eurobest Advertising Festival will be a great celebration of Europe's best creativity in communications, we are therefore delighted to bring together such a distinguished, creative and skilled group of jury presidents who will lead the way in honouring Europe's best ideas.”

Mark Waites, joint creative director and founding partner of Mother, UK, will head the TV/Cinema, Print, Outdoor and Radio jury. Matias Palm-Jensen, creative President of Farfar, Sweden, will chair two juries, the Interactive as well as the Integrated jury. The first-ever Eurobest Design Jury will be led by Sylvia Vitale Rotta, CEO of Team Creatif, France. London-based Melanie Varley, CE EMEA of Mediaedge:cia, has been appointed Media jury president. The Direct and Promo jury will be chaired by Kurt Georg Dieckert, chief creative officer of TBWA\Germany.

Judging will take place on-site at the Berns hotel in Stockholm, the venue for the three-day festival.

Organised by the same team behind the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival and the Dubai Lynx International Advertising Festival, the Eurobest Advertising Festival will be a purely European event. Entries open online today, Thursday, 28 August 2009. The winners will be revealed at the Eurobest awards ceremony on the evening of 3 December.
