TBWA Hunt Lascaris goes to Parliament

Leading advertising agency TBWA Hunt Lascaris, was recently invited to participate in a unique exhibition organised by the Department of Trade and Industry timed to coincide with Alec Erwin's (Minister of Trade and Industry) DTI Budget presentation to the National Assembly in Cape Town on Monday 14 April 2003.

The exhibition aimed to showcase South African large and small business success stories focussing predominantly on unique and innovative ways these South African companies have devised to compete globally, create jobs, implement economic development and export great South African products.

"We were delighted to be the communications agency chosen to exhibit at this event and presented to the Minister, fellow Members of Parliament and staff of the DTI on the success of TBWA and it's role as one of the leaders in a globally recognised and admired industry. " says Dris Naidoo, New Business Director at TBWA Hunt Lascaris. "We put together awards, campaigns and a showreel to demonstrate how South African advertising is pushing back the boundaries and earning international kudos."

"Since South Africa's creative talent is being acknowledged worldwide, our out-of-Africa success proves that a global stature is possible from the Southern end of Africa. Our most recent campaigns developed for the ICC, MTN and Standard Bank (and soon SASOL Limited) have shown how outstanding, relevant creative work can cover the world from one country – our country. To know that our local creative talent can now build global careers and contribute to work on a range of international campaigns without leaving the country is extremely exciting." concludes Naidoo.
