The judges were unanimous in awarding a Grand Prix to the South African entry, which was submitted by SA media company - CIA Nota Bene. One of the judges, Rob Norman commented: "The marketing and communications industry is all about getting the right message to the right audience in their own environment and on that basis alone, the Cell C campaign is a belter."
In August 2002, subtle Cell C branding set in vibrant works of art from local artists were erected on the buildings of the Johannesburg city centre. The total space used was equivalent of 329 rugby fields. The artwork will stay up for a period of at least one-year and there are plans to take this project to Durban and Cape Town.
