The Grammy-winning South African singer will now perform at SunBet Arena in Pretoria on Friday, 8 January and Saturday, 9 January 2027, giving promoters Showtime Management and Anything Goes an additional date to accommodate demand for the 34-date global tour.
The 9 January show was originally scheduled for the Nasrec Outdoor Area in Johannesburg. The move to SunBet Arena follows concerns around potential Highveld thunderstorms, as well as a review of the overall audience experience and requests for seated ticket options.
The venue change also creates an opportunity to add capacity around one of South Africa's biggest music events for early 2027, with Tyla having previously sold out SunBet Arena in 2025.
Demand drives additional date
The addition of the 8 January performance reflects continued demand for Tyla's first full headline world tour.
The A*Pop World Tour is set to open in Paris on 12 October before travelling through Europe, the UK and North America, with the South African leg forming part of the artist's return to her home continent.
Tyla will perform in Cape Town at Green Point Track on Monday, 4 January, followed by the two Pretoria dates.
The tour supports her second studio album, A*Pop, which reached number one on the Billboard US World Albums chart and number three on the UK R&B Albums chart.
For the live entertainment sector, the Pretoria expansion also illustrates the commercial value of strong demand around established South African artists with growing international audiences, with promoters able to leverage an existing venue relationship and audience interest to add another date.
Venue change brings seated option
SunBet Arena provides an indoor setting for the Gauteng shows, addressing some of the weather-related considerations associated with an outdoor January event while also providing a seating configuration.
Existing tickets for the 9 January concert remain valid. Tickets previously purchased for Nasrec have been automatically transferred to SunBet Arena in the same ticket category.
Howler has contacted existing ticket holders regarding the venue transition, including replacement tickets and refund-related arrangements, with all tickets now migrated to Ticketmaster.
Tickets for both Pretoria dates are being sold exclusively through Ticketmaster, with seating tickets starting at R895, excluding the service fee.
Cape Town tickets remain available through Howler.
Ticketmaster and Howler are the official ticketing agents for the South African shows, with organisers warning fans against purchasing tickets through unauthorised suppliers.
Three South African shows
The Pretoria dates bring Tyla's South African A*Pop World Tour schedule to three concerts, spanning Cape Town and Gauteng.
The tour marks the artist's first full headline world tour and will take her to cities across Europe, the UK and North America before continuing to Australia and New Zealand.
The South African dates will give local audiences an opportunity to see the artist perform material from APOP* alongside her established catalogue, following her previous sold-out Pretoria performance.
The events are open to audiences aged 6+, although unaccompanied minors are not permitted.
At SunBet Arena, access to the Golden Circle and General Access standing areas is restricted to ticket holders aged 12 or older and at least 1.2m tall. Both requirements must be met for entry to these areas.
