Indeed, third time lucky! So The New Age finally launched this morning, Monday, 6 December 2010, and online chatter and media stories have ranged from comments about editor Henry Jeffreys' welcome column (and its emphasis on editorial independence and media freedom) and its typography to who's going to buy a copy and where to buy an actual copy. For those of us online, we can always access the e-edition but somehow it's not the same as paper and ink. Bizcommunity.com wishes the new kid on the block all the best, especially since it's silly season and, contrary to what I wrote last week, news has indeed started slowing down (I think last year was different because it was the build-up to the 2010 FIFA World Cup). By the way, five daily newsletters and one weekly left until year-end after this one goes out! Last newsletters here at Bizcommunity are on Monday, 13 December 2010. Have a laid-back week Simone Puterman (@SimoneBiz) Managing editor Please send all South African marketing and media news to marketingnews@bizcommunity.com, international news to internationalnews@bizcommunity.com and opinion pieces to contributors-marketing@bizcommunity.com. Responses to this column welcomed in our online editor's column archive. Top stories

[Stephen Grootes: @StephenGrootes] This year, various ANC politicians have accused the media, and journalists generally, of being skiving gits. Of being people with no moral code, who'll do anything for a story. Of being people who think they are above the law, who don't care about ruining other people's lives. Unfortunately, a court judgment is now going to give them plenty of ammunition. And worse, the court judgment, from what we can see, is absolutely correct.
