No news is not good news In case you missed it, one of the big stories of last week was the sudden resignation of five senior editors of fledgling newspaper The New Age, the afternoon before it was due to launch, and they're still keeping mum as to their reasons. The Meanwhile, there's been an outpouring of support for acclaimed South African war photojournalist Joao Silva, contracted to The New York Times, who had to have the lower parts of both legs amputated after stepping on a landmine in Afghanistan on Saturday, 23 October 2010. Bizcommunity.com also joins in on wishing him a speedy recovery. Coming up this week are the Eagle Awards (yes, they're still in existence) and the Pendoring Afrikaans advertising awards. There's probably a whole bunch more but everything is starting to blur right now... Do we have too many awards across advertising, marketing and media? Bring on summer!
