Facebook fun at Jacaranda

In response to the programme manager's challenge that the Jacaranda 94.2 Just Plain Breakfast team reach 10 000 fans on their Facebook page before the end of their show at 10am, they hijacked their studio yesterday morning when they saw the numbers weren't yet there. Led by Darren Scott, they switched to Just Plain Overdrive and locked down the studio - refusing to leave until they had reached their target.

Despite numerous requests (and instructions) by the programme manager, marketing manager, CEO and even some members of the breakfast team's family, they would not budge -adamant that their fan base wouldn't let them down.

Thanks to the efforts of the team, awesome awards and a helping hand from SA music legend Steve Hofmeyr, Facebook floodgates opened with a phenomenal response - not only in the amount of fans joining, but also in some rather "interesting" comments.

The Work Zone went on air an hour late but the Just Plain Breakfast team passed the 10 000-mark and more.
