| No Comment | CLEVELAND, OHIO: Even though I'm on the other side of the world at present at the headquarters of the Trade, Association and Business Publications International (TABPI) in the States, I couldn't help but follow my team's Loerie coverage on the ground in Margate over this weekend and the usual associated industry shenanigans and excitement of the awards winners. Sorry if you're still untangling the red streamers from your statuettes and picking the white confetti out your teeth and other dubious places, but woohoo - well done to the Biz marketing team for a simple, but very effective brand activation - hey, we got Loeries covered! Look out for our special Loeries newsletter later today. And of course, congrats to all the worthy Loerie winners, may your hangovers be short! I spent a few days in Kansas City, Missouri, last week at the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) annual conference in a dialogue on the challenges facing business-to-business editors here and it was awesome to get a global perspective on the issues common to all of us, such as defending editorial integrity, expert and credible content, defending our industry niche, and the imperative of expert industry editors to assert their rights in a media world where mass content bastardises B2B media brands. I'll be reporting back on the most pertinent points for our industry over the next few weeks on Bizcommunity.com and offline at TABPI SA Editor's Chapter talk shops.
See y'all! Louise Marsland, editor: editor@bizcommunity.com. All marketing news to: marketingnews@bizcommunity.com. Responses to this column welcomed in our new online editor's column archive or on our blog: http://blog.bizcommunity.com.

Ad agencies are “bottom-feeders” - Alistair King[Vivian Warby] Alistair King, creative director of KingJames and one of the judges in this year's Loeries Awards, tells it as it is in the industry these days, no holds barred. “We have become bottom-feeders,” he says, talking quite frankly about ad agencies in the new era.
