They can arm their staff members, clients, suppliers and other stakeholders with knowledge that could potentially save the life of a child - possibly their own - by giving them a collectable, festive season tin of "Cookies for Christmas". At the same time, they will be making a donation to the CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation.

In association with Biscotti Biscuits, CHOC - a national NGO that provides direct practical help to children with cancer as well as their families - is using the beautiful festive season biscuit tins to spread the word about the early detection of childhood cancer.

The tin, which contains 400g of Biscotti butterscotch biscuits, features hand-drawn depictions of Christmas by children currently in CHOC's care. The children entered the CHOC drawing competition earlier in the year and the young artists, whose work is selected to appear on the tin, will receive great prizes at an event in August.

Each tin contains a CHOC information leaflet featuring the warning signs of early cancer detection.

A percentage of the proceeds from the sale of the biscuits will go to CHOC. This is the second tin produced in the series. The "Cookies for Christmas" initiative commenced in 2007 in memory of three-year-old Chiara Valle, who passed away just 10 months after being diagnosed with advanced (Stage IV) Neuroblasthoma, a rare childhood cancer.

Statistics from CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation reveal that:

* One in 600 children in South Africa develops cancer each year.
* It is estimated that fewer than 50% are diagnosed early enough, or at all, for effective treatment.
* If diagnosed early enough, survival rates are on average in excess of 70%.
